Bowen Therapy

"A remedial therapy that is non-intrusive, gentle and very effective"
(European College of Bowen Studies)

During a Bowen Technique therapy session, there is no manipulation or adjustment of bones and no force is used or needed. The practitioner uses their thumbs and fingers to make gentle rolling type movements over muscles and soft tissues on precise areas of the body. During the treatment there are periods in which the practitioner leaves the room and the client is left to rest to allow the body to absorb the work. This gives the body time to make the subtle and fine adjustments which help to relieve everyday stress, help you relax and help to enhance overall wellbeing.

To receive maximum benefit it is recommended that other physical therapies, such as physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractics, reflexology and massage, are not mixed with the treatment, although homeopathy and Bach flower remedies can be used in conjunction with it.

A treatment will take approximately 45 minutes. Two to three treatments at weekly intervals are often sufficient, although further treatments may sometimes be required.

The Bowen Technique is not intended as a substitute for medical treatment or advice.
